Fellowship Class

Fellowship Class

Sundays 9:45-10:45 am, Room 110 (hall across from church office)

The members of the Fellowship class meet during the Sunday school hour to learn together about how to live our best Christian life. We follow a structured study curriculum with a teacher who leads an open and frank discussion of what we feel the material is saying to us. We eagerly hear everyone’s ideas and certainly don’t always all agree, but do always wind up learning more about the Lord’s plan for our lives.

Typically, our class president, Norman Bailey, opens each class with announcements concerning our members and events of interest, and then leads us in prayer. Our teacher, Lew Plane then guides us through the day’s lesson and closes in prayer. The class decides together what studies they would like to take on. During Advent and Lent, the study is usually seasonal, and the remainder of the year, studies often come from Cokesbury.

New Horizons
Exploring a wide variety of topics together to enhance our understanding of God’s will for our lives

New Horizons

Sunday Mornings, 9:45 - 10:45 am, Room 103 in the hall off the atrium.

Our class is a very diverse group in almost every way. We come from a variety of backgrounds and can’t be easily categorized by age or stage in life. Some of us are long-time members of Aldersgate, others newcomers. But we have so much in common! We enjoy a serendipitous study of topics that interest us in the moment. In the past, we have examined the life of John Wesley, used video curriculums, and also tackled the latest study from Billy Graham’s daughter. At least once a year, we select a book of the Bible to dig into, and then, to determine what we’ll focus on next, we’re likely to be caught thumbing through the Cokesbury catalogue to see what grabs us!

Our times together are not at all rigid or formal, and there’s certainly no homework or preparation required. We tend to share the leadership of the class and start meetings with prayer and a discussion of current happenings affecting our lives. From time to time we also have social evenings, short trips to places of interest, and dinners together.

If we sound like your kind of group, we would love to have you join with us!

Tuesday Women’s Bible Study

Tuesday Women’s Bible Study

We’re a lively, busy group of women who take time on Tuesday mornings from 9am-11am to get together and grow in the Lord. We use a variety of study sources that are definitely Bible-oriented, but we each also typically use a workbook to help direct our rich discussions and learning.

Currently we are doing a study on the book of Romans called Romans: Encouragement for Your Lifetime Journey. Paul unfolds God's way to righteousness- how we can be reconciled to God and transformed into the people He means us to be. You may pick up a book at the Vineyard. We ordered them, and they are in.

But we’re much more than just a study group. We enthusiastically support each other in so many ways. We actively maintain a constant prayer list, and pray for each other daily. And, we make sure there’s plenty of time for fellowship, sometimes getting together from time to time for meals.

We would love to welcome you into our group! Please join us next Tuesday morning at 9:00 in Room 103!
